Sorbex is our super absorbent dressing pad, an excellent capacity dressing for use on moderately to heavily exuding wounds with the addition of our OptiSil silicone wound contact layer

This version is without the additional Optisil silicone layer so comprises of the following makeup

1. Light blue breathable and water resistant non-woven backing

2. Super absorbent pad

3. Hydropenetrating non-woven contact layer

4. OptiSil silicone perforated layer to distribute wound exudate fast without stripping the epidermal cells

This multi-layered construction is designed to facilitate fluid management to provide promotion of faster wound healing. The super absorbent pad builds up a moisture locking system, locking away excess exudate

The smooth blue protective backing prevents strike through and is a water resistant & bacteria backing

The super absorbent core has exceptional absorption capacity to minimize maceration risk

The contact layer, also known as the wicking layer is non adhesive offering superior comfort whist protecting fragile tissue

The dressing pad can absorb 180g of fluid extending the period between dressing changes

The additional OptiSil silicone layer has 900 open perforations per 100cm for fast wicking whilst minimizing the rick of maceration

Ideal for the management of moderately to heavily exuding wounds including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and dehisced surgical wounds (condition where the edges of the wound no longer meet)

Sorbex dressings require the use of a secondary fixation dressing to hold in place and we would recommend a compression stockinette
